Fire investigators will be back on scene today in Euless where a fast-moving fire left a woman dead Wednesday.
Fire crews were called out just past 3 p.m. yesterday and found heavy smoke and fire jetting from a townhome unit on Abbey Road near Mid-Cities Boulevard and Main.
Commanders immediately added a second alarm. Rescuers quickly found the victim overcome by the fire on the ground floor. Once outside, she was pronounced dead. A dog was also killed.
Firefighters treated one person on the scene for smoke inhalation. That person had been trying to evacuate residents.
The investigation began yesterday but nothing conclusive was found.
