A 63-year-old woman died after being struck by a vehicle while crossing a street in Arlington, and police are searching for the driver who fled the scene.
Arlington police said officers responded around 9:13 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, to southbound South Collins Street near East Border Street after a witness reported the woman, who was using a wheelchair, had been hit.
The woman was found with serious injuries and taken to a hospital, where she later died.
The driver continued south on South Collins Street without stopping, police said. Investigators said the woman does not appear to have been crossing at a designated crosswalk.
No arrests have been made. Police are working to identify the vehicle and are asking anyone with information to contact the Arlington Police Department.
