The woman who arranged the murders of an Arlington couple learns she will spend the rest of her life in jail with little hope of getting out.
The US Supreme Court has turned down the appeal of 52-year-old Dephne Wright without comment. Wright was a self-proclaimed spiritual healer. She had been hired to remove a curse from a sewing business owned by 72-year-old Long Nguyen and 63-year-old Huong Ly of Arlington.
The two kept Wright around as an advisor, but when Wright learned the two had a $1 million life insurance policy, she hired a Houston man and his nephew to kill the couple. Police tracked down the killers and Wright.
A jury convicted Wright of capital murder and she got a mandatory life without parole.
