A tragic accident occurred this morning at a Dallas UPS facility.
Dallas Fire Rescue says that just before 11 a.m., a person fell into a trash compactor at the UPS facility located at 10155 West Monroe.
The Urban Search and Rescue team attempted to extricate the person from the compactor. By the time they reached the victim, he was already deceased.
UPS confirmed in a statement that the victim was a vendor, though their identity has not yet been released. The circumstances surrounding the accident are still unclear.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) typically investigates such workplace incidents, but a spokeswoman has only stated that she will determine if OSHA is involved in this case.
