A new workshop is being offered for any Texas community who's dreamed of being on the big screen.

The "Film Friendly Texas & Digital Media Friendly Texas" workshop will offer development and info sessions, including the basic "how to" on applying for and receiving one of these designations. Other topics include how film locations are selected by productions, how to create community filming guidelines, and how media production generates economic development and job creation.

When a Texas community receives a certification such as film- or media-friendly, it highlights that unique area and all it has to offer. The North Texas communities already on the list include:

Arlington

Cedar Hill

Corsicana

Dallas

Denton

Fort Worth

Frisco

Glen Rose

Granbury

Grand Prairie

Mansfield

McKinney

Mesquite

Midlothian

Pilot Point

Rowlett

Sanger

Waxahachie

Wichita Falls

The "Film Friendly Texas & Digital Media Friendly Texas" Workshop is happening Thursday, April 10 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. More info can be found here.
