The final Main Street Social Saturday is this weekend as Dallas' World Cup activities slowly start to come to an end.
Shalissa Perry with Downtown Dallas Inc says the events early on have been both a massive undertaking but a huge success.
"We have had a ball for our first Social Saturdays," Perry said. "We've had thousands of visitors come through and enjoy the car-free experience. It's been a lot of fun."
They planned four of these events and Saturday is the last one.
Main Street closes to vehicle traffic in Downtown Dallas between 9:00am to 3:00pm between Akard and Harwood.
There are plenty of activities from artwork to shopping. Besides the restaurants in the area, there are also local vendors out for people to take advantage.
Perry says many of the activities people are seeing for the first time are events they have outside of the World Cup.
"Some people might be surprised to know that we do these sorts of things throughout the year," Perry said. "Summer Sounds Concerts, we do fitness, we do art installations."
The final concert associated with the Social Sounds Concerts Series during the World Cup is Tuesday, July 14th. That happens to be the date of the final World Cup match held in North Texas.
