
A Houston man was arrested for mail theft at two North Texas cities after a sting operation.
Staff at The Cross Church in Wylie called police because someone stole mail from their mailbox.
Police ran a license plate from cameras in the area and set up additional surveillance.
Eventually, they saw the vehicle approach again and saw the driver exit and head toward the mailbox.
Police arrested 38-year-old Viorel Velcu for Mail Theft less than or equal to 10 addresses as well as Unlawful Use of Criminal Instrument.
Wylie police then discovered he was wanted on a warrant out of Flower Mound for Mail Theft less than or equal to 10 addresses as well.
