Lancaster police say the hunt for the brother of a former NFL player is over after a fatal shooting over the weekend at a youth football game.
A murder arrest warrant was issued for 39-year old Yaqub Talib of Garland after a youth football coach was killed after an argument during a game Saturday night. Reports say Talib turned himself into police Monday.
Police say football coach Mike Hickmon was shot and killed at the Lancaster Community Park during an on-field quarrel. TMZ Sports obtained video that showed parents and coaches fuming with the refs and with each other when five gunshots suddenly rang out.
As reported by TMZ, his brother former NFL player Aqib Talib's lawyer confirms his client was there and is said to be "very distraught and devastated over this terrible loss of life."
Court records show it's not the first time that guns and Yaqub Talib have crossed paths. He is currently awaiting trial on a misdemeanor charge of unlawful carrying of a weapon from a May 2021 arrest. He was also busted for meth possession that same day.
