Getting stuck in a small space may be unbearable for those with claustrophobia, but being trapped in a porta-potty would be a miserable experience for just about anyone. Sadly, that’s exactly what happened to one man recently while he was visiting Gettysburg battlefield. The man had to be rescued from the porta-potty after a tree fell on the portable bathroom while he was inside.

While visiting Gettysburg National Military Park over the weekend, the man decided to use one of the park’s porta-pottys. However, when a tree fell on top of the portable bathroom, the man became trapped inside and had to be rescued by the fire department. It is unknown what caused the tree to fall, but eventually the man was safely removed from the portable bathroom.

“He was very lucky. It was a large tree, and it just missed striking him. It could have been very serious,” said Barlow Volunteer Fire Department Assistant Chief Joe Robinson. According to the New York Post, the man was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Hopefully the next time he uses a porta-potty will be a slightly less miserable experience.
