A ground stop issued for American Airlines flights slowed things down this Christmas Eve morning.

A technical issue that lasted about an hour on this Christmas Eve morning temporarily grounded all American Airlines flights nationwide affecting travelers as millions are expected to fly for the holiday.

One stranded passenger took to social media to ask American how long the delay would be and American responded to them. It was probably not what they wanted to hear though, American said -they had no timeframe as to when the glitch will be fixed, adding "Your safety is our utmost priority, once this is rectified, we'll have you safely on your way to your destination."

The airline issued a statement later Tuesday morning offering an apology and an explanation:
"A vendor technology issue briefly affected flights this morning. That issue has been resolved and flights have resumed. We sincerely apologize to our customers for the inconvenience this morning. It’s all hands on deck as our team is working diligently to get customers where they need to go as quickly as possible."

American is back in business and flights are back on, however you're gonna wanna check your flight status on the American Airlines website to make sure your flight is not affected.
