February is National Heart Month. It's a month set aside to showcase the importance of good heart health and ways to prevent heart disease from taking hold in your life.
Heart disease is the leading cause of death for men and women. It kills 655,000 people in this country every year. That's one out of every four deaths in the US.
Heart disease is a blanket term for several different conditions that affect the human heart and the circulatory system. More than 800,000 people have a heart attack in the U.S. every year.
This month is also used to remind people that EVERYONE can learn CPR in order to help someone who might need the help.
On today's Ask The Expert, Dr. Fahmi Farah joined us on KRLD. She's a cardiologist and the founder, CEO, and medical director at Bentley Heart in Fort Worth.
