An Australian man testing an artificial intelligence chatbot says it gave him shockingly violent advice.
He told reporters he typed into the program that he hated his father and sometimes wanted to hurt him. In response, the chatbot allegedly provided detailed instructions on how to stab his dad, urged him to continue the attack until he was dead, and even suggested filming the act to post online.
The incident is raising new concerns about the risks of unregulated AI tools and the potential for harmful content when users express dark or violent thoughts. Experts say stronger safeguards are needed to prevent chatbots from producing dangerous responses.
