Chips Ahoy! recall expanded

More “Baked Bites Brookies” from Chips Ahoy! have been recalled following initial December recall announcement, according to the U.S. Food & Drug Administration.

In a recall expansion notice issued this week, the FDA said that one additional code date (May 10, 2026) has been added to the recall, as well as two Universal Product Codes (UPCs) inside retailed carton units. An initial recall notice from Chips Ahoy! parent company Mondelēz International, Inc. was issued on Dec. 24 of last year.

“This voluntary recall is being conducted because of an incorrect mixing process that resulted in the formation of small corn starch clumps in the product,” the FDA publication explained. “Due to the characteristics and size of the small starch clumps, the clump could constitute a choking hazard, particularly in special risk groups, such as young children and the elderly.”

While the clumps may pose a risk, the notice said there have not been any injuries or illnesses reported.

This recall covers products with specific “Best When Used By Dates” listed here. No other Chips Ahoy! products are included in the recall.

“Consumers who have this product should not eat it,” said the FDA. It added that consumers can contact the company at 1-855-535-5948 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET for more information.

Audacy also reported this week on a recall of 24 different raw honey products that had an undeclared pharmaceutical ingredient linked to erectile dysfunction in some packages, per lab testing.
