One of the best parts about living in DFW is all the great food that is at every corner. Whether its fast food, hole in the wall restaurants, chains or fine dining, the metroplex has just about every cuisine someone may be craving. However, all that great food does come with one major downside, as a new report recently named DFW as one of the fattest metros in the country.
Personal finance website WalletHub recently conducted a survey looking to find the fattest city in the United States. They looked at 100 of the most populated U.S. metro areas across 19 different weight-related problems to determine the rankings, according to Dallas Culture Map. While Texas was well represented on the list, it was DFW being ranked 27th fattest metro that had many stunned.

Luckily, two other Texas areas were placed higher than DFW, with San Antonio at 25 and McAllen shockingly taking the number one spot. North Texas being ranked 19th in the “obesity and overweight” category, 38th in “health consequences,” and 33rd in the “food and fitness” helped secure the number 27 spot. While Texas likes being ranked on just about any list, this is definitely one DFW is happy to not be 1st in.
