A Disneyland employee died last week after she fell out of a moving golf cart at the theme park and hit her head, officials shared.
The incident happened on Wednesday before noon, and after the woman fell from the golf cart, the authorities responded to West Ball Road and South West Street near Disneyland’s private Club 33.
Police arrived at the scene and found the woman had fallen from the golf cart while it was moving and hit her head. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment, where she succumbed to her injuries on Friday, the Anaheim Police Department shared.
A spokesperson for the Orange County Coroner’s Office shared that the woman was 60-year-old Mavis Lear of Fullerton.
“We are heartbroken by the loss of Bonnye and offer our sincere condolences to everyone who cared for her,” Ken Potrock, Disneyland Resort president, shared in a statement.
Potrock went on to say, “We are focused on supporting her family and our cast members through this tragic event and making sure they have the resources they need.”
Lear worked for Disneyland at its Club 33 in membership support services. Club 33 is a members-only restaurant and lounge located in the New Orleans Square area of the theme park.
