Has tech magnate Elon Musk become one of Donald Trump’s biggest supporters in his bid to regain the Presidency?
In federal disclosures made public Tuesday, it was revealed that Musk gave the pro-Trump “America PAC” about $75 million in a three-month span.
America PAC has focused its efforts on states where polling shows Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris running neck and neck, hoping to swing those battleground states in Trump’s favor. The filing with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) shows that America PAC spent about $72 million from July to September on those efforts.
Over that period, America PAC spent more money than any other super PAC whose efforts are devoted to getting pro-Trump voters to the polls.
Musk was America PAC’s only donor during that timespan.
Musk, the CEO of electric carmaker Tesla and the owner of social media platform X (formerly Twitter), officially endorsed Trump in July and appeared alongside him earlier this month at a Pennsylvania rally.
The billionaire plans to continue to campaign for Trump in that state throughout the month, according to Reuters.
Neither America PAC nor Musk himself have publicly commented on the donations.
