Baylee Turner was an English teacher at Sarcoxie High School near Joplin, Missouri when she was arrested and charged in 2019 with having sexual contact with a student. The then 23-year-old admitted to having sex with the student, according to the Joplin Globe.

But now, the charges have been dropped after the pair married. Prosecutor Nate Daily says it severely impacted the case because the male student cannot be asked to testify against his former teacher.

The two have reportedly moved out of the state and Turner no longer has a teaching license.

According to court documents, Turner and the student admitted they had sex during the week of Jan. 14-19, 2019. She faced up to four years in prison for the felony charge and she posted her $10,000 bond after the arrest.

The court also ordered her not to have contact with anyone younger than 16 after her release.
