POLICE: Four-year-old dead after grandmother forced her to drink whiskey

BATON ROUGE, LA (1080 KRLD)- A four-year-old child is dead in Baton Rouge, Louisiana after her grandmother reportedly forced her to drink a bottle of whiskey.

Police told news outlets, that the child's grandmother, Roxanne Record, 53, and mother, Kadjah Record, 29 were arrested Friday on first-degree murder charges, NBC reports.

According to reports, officers were sent to the child's residence around 11 a.m. Thursday to respond to an 'unresponsive child.' It was there that 4-year-old China Record, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say they learned the grandmother had forced the child to drink a bottle of whiskey while the mother watched.

An autopsy confirmed the cause of death was 'acute alcohol poisoning.' The child had a blood-alcohol level of .680%. According to authorities, that is more than eight times the .08% driving limit for an adult.

The investigation continues in this case.
