President Joe Biden had a press conference abruptly ended by his press secretary after seeming to accidentally refer to China and other Asian countries as the "third world."
Biden was speaking at the G20 summit in New Delhi, India, and was asked about the meeting he held with Chinese Premier Li Qiang.
"We talked about stability," Biden said. "We talked about making sure that the third world, excuse me, the southern hemisphere, had access to change and access. It wasn't confrontational at all."
At that point, Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre interjected, saying, "Thank you everybody. This ends the press conference.
Thanks, everyone."
The moment lit a fire under conservative pundits who have remained critical throughout Biden's Presidency.
Podcast host Benny Johnson shared the clip in a tweet, posting, "Joe Biden's staff cut his mic in the middle of a sentence during a press conference. Who is really in charge?"
