We have all heard horror stories of seemingly insurmountable piles of student loan debt. But while there may be extreme cases, according to the Education Data Initiative, the average federal student loan debt to get a bachelor's degree was just over $37,000 in 2021. At the same time, experts estimate that four-year education can add $1 million in lifetime career earnings.
CBS News Financial Analyst Jill Schlesinger - Jill On Money - said it is important to avoid taking on too much student loan debt. She talked with KRLD's Chris Sommer.
