May is always a time of year when we can see devastating storms, flooding, hail, and tornadoes. Nasty weather can affect all areas of the world. One place that has seen devastating rain and flooding is an area of northern Italy.
Flooding there has forced more than 36 thousand people to evacuate and 23 thousand still can't return to their homes. The floods also destroyed 2.5 million acres of farmland in this rich growing area of Italy.
Alberto Lombardi owns more than a dozen restaurants here and in other areas of Texas. He comes from that area of Italy and he's raising money to help.
He joined us to talk about the fundraiser.
