Tuesday marks one year since the horrific 7.8 magnitude earthquake rocked the Turkey-Syrian border.

Following the initial quake approximately nine hours later a magnitude 7.5 earthquake hit in the region nearly 60 miles away. The series of quakes killed over 55,000 people in Turkey and Syria, marking it the worst earthquake the region has seen in 20 years.

One year later on Ask the Expert, David Lillie revisits with KRLD's Kristin Diaz and David Rancken for an update. He is the executive director of SAMS, short for The Syrian American Medical Society Foundation.
