Hulen Mall shooting sends man to the hospital

Police confirmed that there was a shooting Saturday afternoon at the Hulen Mall in Fort Worth. Authorities are working to identify the suspect, described by the Fort Worth Police Department as an adult male.

“The victim was transported to a local hospital with what is believed to be a non-life threating injury,” said the department.”

According to the Fort Worth Police Department, officers were called to the mall at 7400 S. Hulen Street a approximately 2 p.m. Saturday. There, they were directed to a grassy area between Macy’s and Red Robin, where there was an adult male with a gunshot wound to one of his legs.

“An off-duty officer from an outside agency was already with the victim along with off-duty emergency medical personnel. Fort Worth Fire and EMS arrived a few minutes later and provided medical attention to the victim,” the department said.

It added that early details indicate the victim was walking outside when the suspect pulled out a gun and shot him. Fort Worth police said the two men are believed to have known each other.
