As the stress from the pandemic continues to build, lawmakers in several states are making a renewed push to get rid of the twice-yearly time change.

Advocates of the idea say it would reduce automobile accidents, make life simpler and give people one less thing to worry about.

In Texas, State Sen. Jose Menendez (D-San Antonio) has introduced several similar bills in the Legislature since 2015.  While his efforts have not achieved their ultimate goal of eliminating the time change, Sen. Menendez said there is a growing movement to leave the clocks alone year-round.  He is in favor of giving Texans the option to vote on the issue.
