A popular blender is being recalled and the manufacturer wants you to stop using it immediately.
About 4.8 million BlendJet 2 Portable Blender are being recalled. They were sold between October 2020 and November 2023 at retail stores nationwide, including Costco, Walmart and Target.
As of December 28th, BlendJet had received 329 reports of the blades breaking while in use, and an additional 17 reports of overheating or fires resulting in 49 reports of minor burns and one report of a laceration injury.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission's recall notice, customers are being asked to disable their blender and send pictures to BlendJet as proof before they can receive a free replacement.
