President Trump is promising a high-flying celebration as he prepares to sign the so-called "Big Beautiful Bill" at the White House this afternoon.
The signing ceremony is set for 5 p.m. Eastern, and in true Trump fashion, it will come with a show of military muscle. The former president says a fleet of B-2 bombers, F-22 Raptors, and F-35 stealth fighters will fly over the White House as he signs the sweeping legislative package.
“This will be something to see — beautiful planes flying over our heads while we sign this beautiful bill,” Trump said during a pre-holiday press appearance.
The legislation includes provisions for tax cuts, border security, energy development, and veteran services, and has been hailed by Trump and allies as a signature win heading into the summer campaign season. Critics, however, have accused the bill of overreach and say it may face legal challenges down the line.
The White House ceremony will be broadcast live and is expected to draw a crowd of supporters and lawmakers. The flyover is part of a broader Independence Day celebration that will also include musical performances and fireworks on the National Mall.
