Local school cuts ties with photo company over Epstein files

The Mount Pleasant Area School District is cutting ties with school photography company Lifetouch because of the Epstein files.

The decision follows social media posts connecting Lifetouch parent company, Shutterfly, to the investment firm Apollo Global Management, where former CEO Leon Black was previously employed and later named in documents related to Jeffrey Epstein.

Lifetouch has publicly stated it is not mentioned in those files and that no executives ever had access to student photos, citing strict privacy safeguards.

Superintendent Tim Gabauer tells KDKA Radio the district moved forward after hearing growing concerns from parents and residents.

He says photos already taken this fall remain district property, yearbooks will proceed as planned, and principals will begin reviewing new vendors for next school year.
