Solar Eclipse 2024: Astronomers explain what to expect

We are only days away from the most anticipated celestial event of the year: the 2024 total solar eclipse on April 8th.

To help us get ready for the big day, NewsRadio 1080 KRLD's Austin York and Rex Ravita II hosted a distinguished panel of guests to tell us everything we need to know about the upcoming total eclipse.

Our guest panel was presented in partnership with the Perot Museum of Nature and Science.

Dr. Nidia Morrel is the Resident Astronomer at Carnegie Science’s Las Campanas Observatory in Chile. Dr. Morrell's work in observational astronomy has been pivotal in uncovering the secrets of star formation and evolution, providing insights that are crucial for our understanding of events like solar eclipses.

Dr. Julien Rojas-Arispea is Postdoctoral Fellow at the Carnegie Science Earth and Planets Laboratory where he specializes in the isotopic compositions of organic matter and the flux of interplanetary dust.
