Texas tops a list of states suffering the most from porch piracy.
The numbers in a study from The Action Network show a 30% chance of a package being swiped from your Texas front porch -- that's regular mail first, then Amazon second.
One porch pirate victim says thieves are well aware of video surveillance and usually hide their faces with hoodies or hats. Authorities have a few tips for us:
1. Try to have delivery drivers put packages behind bushes or trash carts to keep them out of sight
2. Pick the delivery option to require a signature
3. Ask your neighbors to grab a package from your porch before thieves do
4. Try scheduling deliveries when you or someone else is at home
