Time is ticking to ship those holiday gifts

It is starting to look a lot like Christmas. Car dealers have colorful, red, and green balloons tied to cars for sale, families have reindeer antlers with big red noses on their cars, and shoppers have pressing deadlines for shipping their holiday gifts across the country.

According to the United States Postal Service, if you need to get something shipped before the big day, the deadline is coming up.

“If they’re sending with the United States Postal Service, they need to get things out by Tuesday or Wednesday at the very latest, if it’s close by,” Nate with Eagle Postal in Arlington said. “If they’re running with a company like FedEx or UPS to ship, they probably have a little bit longer as late as Wednesday, but after that, if it’s going far, then it’s too late.”

He added that his best advice this time of year is to “get it shipped out as quickly as possible.”
