Paris Olympics organizers have postponed the men's triathlon due to concerns about water quality in the Seine River.
The swimming portion of the race may be rescheduled in the coming days pending water tests for acceptable bacteria levels.
The delays come after a costly cleanup effort to improve water quality in the river, with high levels of E. coli posing health risks to athletes.
Despite efforts to make the river suitable for swimming, bacteria levels have remained a concern, leading to the postponement of the triathlon.
Organizers are hopeful that the events can proceed once water quality improves.
