In 2018, Black Panther changed the culture. The star-studded cast comprised of iconic actors like Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, and Angela Bassett revolutionized the superhero genre.

The world was shocked by the revelation that Boseman was secretly battling illness in 2020. His untimely death shook the entertainment industry and Marvel Studios had to rewrite the script for the sequel in his absence.

“He left such an amazing legacy. And one of the greatest legacies for me is just culture in general and the need to fight and the need to be a warrior on-screen and off-screen.”

Shalet Monique plays an FBI agent in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

We asked Monique her thoughts about the film's new direction with the main protagonist no longer present.

“There is a shift. And I think that the shift is just going to be something that we're all going to be so excited to see. And when it actually happens, I think it's going to leave a lot to talk about. A lot of tears of joy, a lot of you know. I don't think that a lot of people are going to be able to explain their feelings toward it because it's just going to be such a beautiful transition.” Monique said.

This latest installment introduces a new villain and someone who will continue the Black Panther legacy and is sure to be one of the most emotional releases of the year. Monique said filming such a monumental film was an experience like no other.

“It's such a beautiful production. You know, when you're surrounded by love, you just feel it. Especially with so much going on in the world. Love is just top tier and just to be in that setting and feel that type of love was just an experience.”

With new characters being introduced and a chance to adventure back to Wakanda, audiences worldwide are anticipating this feature film.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever hits theaters on November 11th.

If superheroes aren't your thing; how about supermodels? Here are some other new releases to check out on this week's What to Watch from KRLD.

While the Fenty brand brought Rihanna to billionaire status, the lingerie is not what’s making people talk about the 4th installment of the Savage X Fenty fashion show. Representatives for Johnny Depp confirmed that he would be a featured guest in the show. This was controversial considering the messy trial Depp was just involved in with Amber Heard.

Depp is not the only star in the Fenty show. Cara Delevingne, Taraji P Henson, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Winston Duke, and Marsai Martin are all slated to make appearances. Anitta and Burna Boy are scheduled to perform.

The Savage X Fenty Show Vol. 4 will premiere exclusively on Amazon Prime on Nov. 9th.
