How many times have you felt like you had a case of the Mondays?
It's not a case of the Mondays, that's the worst. It's the "Sunday Scaries"
Sunday Scaries is a term people use nowadays to explain the stress or dread you feel at the end of the weekend when you have to go back to the grind for another five days. The average person feels the "Sunday Scaries" around 36 times a year.
A new study revealed that 23% of people surveyed say Sundays are harder to enjoy because of the looming thought of going back to work the next day. There are three main reasons people have said as to why Sunday Scaries happen: One, stress on what they need to get done in the following days, two, uncertainty on how the week will go, and three, just knowing what they have to deal with when tomorrow comes.
The study also covers work-life balance, stating how Sunday Scaries are a cause of burnout and not getting enough rest throughout the week and weekend.
However, people offered solutions as how they try to combat Sunday Scaries. Some of them include:
Meal Prepping/Cooking in general
Watching TV/Movies
Sleeping In
Getting organized with a calendar/to-do list
You're average if you get hit by those "Scaries" by just before 4 p.m. on Sunday. Most people tend to the activities above to fend off Sunday Scaries.
