If you fly Southwest, you could pay more for Wi-Fi starting next week.

The Dallas-based airline currently charges $8 dollars a day for passengers to use its onboard Wi-Fi. But, starting next Tuesday it will start charging $8 dollars per flight, meaning travelers with connecting flights will pay more.

Southwest just spent over $2 billion dollars on in-flight upgrades, and that includes the addition of two Wi-Fi vendors to provide passengers with faster in-flight connections.

Southwest insists only a limited number of passengers will have to pay more.
Other inflight upgrades include power ports at each seat and bigger overhead bins on some planes.

Upgrades will be added to all Southwest jets by this fall.
