PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - Fresh off a three-game sweep of the Milwaukee Brewers, the Pirates made a roster move on Monday's off day.

They claimed righthanded pitcher Carson Fulmer off waivers from the Detroit Tigers and designated for assignment outfielder Guillermo Heredia.
Fulmer, 26, appeared in seven games for the Tigers, with a 0-0 record and 6.75 ERA. Detroit had claimed Fulmer off waivers from the White Sox last month. Career-wise, he is 6-9 with a 6.57 ERA in 51 games.

The White Sox selected Fulmer eighth overall in the 2015 draft after his career at Vanderbilt, where he was a teammate of Bryan Reynolds.
Heredia had only 3 hits in 16 at bats before he was assigned to the Altoona alternate training camp on August 5. The Pirates had signed the former Mariners and Rays outfielder as a free agent in the off season.
