Dallas just got rid of them a few months ago but a return of electric rental scooters will be discussed at today's Dallas City Council meeting.
The once ubiquitous scooters were banned in Dallas for a number of reasons including police concerns that they were being used as weapons, especially during the riots that broke out following the officer-involved death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.
Since then, the companies and community groups have held meetings seeking a strategy for bringing the scooters back. Today's city council discussion is informational only.
