Count Dr. Elizabeth Kassanoff-Piper among those who believe Texas Gov. Greg Abbott is jumping the gun.
Kassanoff-Piper, president of the Dallas Co. Medical Society, told the KRLD Morning News she believes the governor acted too soon in announcing the statewide COVID-19 restrictions, including the Texas mask mandate, will be lifted Wed., March 10. All businesses across the state will again be allowed to open and operate at 100% capacity.
Dr. Kassanoff-Piper said she would be more comfortable leaving the current rules in place until a greater portion of the state's population is vaccinated against the coronavirus. She urged residents to use good judgment and continue to wear masks when visiting public places, including restaurants.
