After nearly two years of frustration for some Dallas residents, the city has now received nine bids to dismantle Shingle Mountain - the pile of used roofing materials and other debris along South Central Expressway.
The city has been in a legal impasse with the landowner and the accused polluter using the property.
The bids range from less than a half-million dollars to more than $3 million.
Now, the city will have to choose from among the bidders to haul 175,000 cubic yards of material to the landfill less than 500 yards away.
