Texas Governor Greg Abbott is adding several items for lawmakers to consider during this 3rd special session.
The main focus of the session is supposed to be redistricting now that the latest Census data is available and Texas picked up two additional seats in Congress.
But the Governor has the ability to add other items to the agenda.
His original call for the session included preventing vaccine mandates, and spending federal COVID relief funds. Now, the Governor has added property tax relief to his list of priorities for members of the Legislature.
Abbott also wants lawmakers to pass a constitutional amendment setting policies on bail in some criminal cases. He signed a bail reform bill earlier this month.
