WASHINGTON (1080 KRLD) - Congresswoman Kay Granger has tested positive for COVID-19.
Granger, like all other lawmakers, was tested upon returning to Washington for the start of the 117th Congress.
Granger immediately quarantined after being notified that her test came bvavk positive.
Granger's office says she is asymptomatic, feels great and is under the care of her doctor.
Granger represents Texas' 12th congressional district, which includes all of Parker County and portions of Tarrant and Wise counties.
The statement from Granger's office is as follows:
"When she arrived in DC for the beginning of the 117th Congress, Congresswoman Kay Granger was tested for coronavirus in accordance with the Attending Physician's guidance for Members when traveling from their home state. She was later notified that she tested positive and immediately quarantined. Having received the vaccine in December, she is asymptomatic and feeling great! She will remain under the care of the her doctor."
