Guzman enters race for TX attorney general

AUSTIN (1080 KRLD) - The race for the Republican nomination for state attorney general is getting more crowded.

Former Texas Supreme Court Justice Eva Guzman is the latest to throw her name into the ring for attorney general.

Late last week, on the day that her resignation from the high court took effect, Guzman filed a campaign treasurer appointment form with the Texas Ethics Commission, stating that she is seeking the attorney general's post.

Guzman joins Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush in challenging incumbent Ken Paxton in next year's race.

The 2022 primary election is March 1, and the general election is Nov. 8.
