Senator John Cornyn is expressing his support for Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth after another report of a Signal chat communication of military plans, this time, involving Hegseth's wife and brother.

Cornyn does agree with calls to investigate the overall use of Signal and how secure it is.

"I don't think anybody deserves to get fired over this," Cornyn said. "We need to fix what's wrong and we need to move on and to make sure all of these communications are indeed secure."

Cornyn says Hegseth has had challenges in his first few months as Defense Secretary.

"I think he's going to do fine," Cornyn said. "The good news is he's got a great team around him."

Cornyn made the comments during a meeting with several small business owners in Dallas this week when questioned by Dallas reporters.

This week Congressman Don Bacon of Nebraska became the first House republican voicing support for Hegseth's removal.
