Texas state representative Kyle Biedermann does not believe the federal government "represents the values of Texans." He claims the government is also "out of control," and as such, wants the Lone Star State to split.
Representative Biedermann of Fredericksburg plans to file a bill allowing for a referendum on secession.
Biedermann says his proposal aligns with the Texas Constitution, which states that Texans "have the right to reform or abolish their government."
The legislative session will convene in January.
