Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller says President Biden's Executive Orders cancelling the 1200-mile Keystone XL pipeline and ordering a pause on border wall construction will cost Texas jobs.
"With two strokes of the pen, that's over 50,000 jobs gone, I think that's just stupid." Miller says with or without the Keystone XL pipeline that Canadian oil will still have to be transported.
The commissioner says "would you rather it go through a pipeline that has an absolutely safe record or have it moved by trucks, rail or ships?"
Miller asks "anybody remember Exxon Valdez?"
Miller also says an Executive Order shifting $30 million from a USDA program designed to help farmers through the pandemic to climate change efforts shows "once again our farmers have been abandoned and left out in the cold."
