President Biden is offering companies incentives to allow their employees vaccinated.
The plan would reimburse employers for paid time off for workers to get vaccinated and in cases where side effects are significant enough that workers need time off after their shots.
Glen Hamer, president and CEO of the Texas Association of Business says, "we're soon going to be at a point where the supply of vaccine outstrips demand and now the goal is get more people to want the shots. The president putting a prioritization in getting employers involved in vaccinating Texans and Americans is overall very positive."
He says the companies would be able to tap into a tax credit that's part of the 1.9 trillion dollar coronavirus relief package. Companies with up to 500 employees would be reimbursed up to $511 dollars per worker per day for up to ten days.
Hamer says "An important point to stress here is that it's pretty unlikely that tax credit will be fully needed, but it's nice to have."
