A member of the Texas Supreme Court is stepping down.
Texas Supreme Court Justice Eva Guzman is resigning after more than a decade on the state's highest court.
Reports say she has notified Texas Governor Greg Abbott that she will leave the bench on Friday.
Guzman was Texas' first Latina justice on the court after being appointed by former Governor Rick Perry in 2009.
Her current term would have run through the end of 2022. It will be up to Governor Abbott to appoint a replacement.
