PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA - SEPTEMBER 10: Republican presidential nominee, former U.S. President Donald Trump and Democratic presidential nominee, U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris debate for the first time during the presidential election campaign at The National Constitution Center on September 10, 2024 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After earning the Democratic Party nomination following President Joe Biden's decision to leave the race, Harris faced off with Trump in what may be the only debate of the 2024 race for the White House. Last night's debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump was quite eventful.

Harris delivered a forceful performance, often putting Trump on the defensive over various issues, including his legal troubles and past actions. The debate was marked by Harris's aggressive approach, which seemed to rattle Trump, leading to some defensive and rambling responses.

The debate took place in Philadelphia, and it was a significant moment for both candidates as they aimed to sway undecided voters in critical swing states. Harris's performance was seen as a strong one, with many observers noting her ability to keep the pressure on Trump throughout the debate.

Trump cited his assassination attempt during his debate against Vice President Kamala Harris, saying he "probably took a bullet to the head" due to rhetoric from Democrats.

He said, "I probably took a bullet to the head because of the things that they say about me. They talk about democracy. I'm a threat to democracy. They're the threat to democracy.”

Trump's remark was followed by Harris saying that Trump would "weaponize the Department of Justice" against his political enemies.
