Border wall plans could save Texas billions, Trump says

President-elect Donald Trump says his border wall plans could save Texas billions while significantly increasing the cost for the federal government.

Speaking from his Mar-a-Lago estate, Trump criticized the Biden administration for selling off border wall panels and suggested Texas may file a restraining order to halt the move.

Trump’s proposal to resume border wall construction comes as welcome news for Texas, which has been paying up to $30 million per mile under Operation Lone Star. The state aims to build 100 miles of border wall by the end of 2026.
