SWEETWATER, Texas — A DoorDash delivery turned into a lifesaving tip for police in West Texas.

Officers say a driver making a drop at a Sweetwater motel noticed suspicious items and quickly alerted authorities. That call led police to discover a possible hostage situation inside one of the rooms, where they found a person being held against their will.

The victim was safely rescued, and investigators later praised the driver for stopping what could have been a dangerous crime.

Some unverified reports circulating online mention items like trash bags, zip ties, bleach, and a hatchet, but police have not confirmed any of those details.

The investigation is ongoing, and no further information has been released about possible charges.
