Despite highs in the mid-to-upper 90s in much of Texas today, the state's fire danger is considered low-to-moderate in almost all of Texas.
Only about two dozen Texas counties, mostly in the Panhandle and Southern Plains, are rated "high."
The three biggest wildfires in Texas today are:
The Dempsey fire in Palo Pinto County which has burned nearly 12,000 acres and is now 77% contained.
The Gas Plant 2 fire in Coke County. Now 289 acres burned and 75% contained.
The Old Buckshot Complex in Kerr County. Now 270 acres burned and 65% contained.
